To qualify for the Singapore Dollar Special Time Deposit Offer^, two conditions must be satisfied.
First, a minimum amount of S$25,000 and a maximum of S$500,000 must be placed in a Singapore Dollar ("S$") Time Deposit with a tenor of 188 days at 1% per annum (p.a.).
Second, a new GIRO application with a minimum placement of S$1,000 per month in any Deposit Account# must be made.

# Deposit Account refers to any of the following:
1. SuperSalary 2. e$aver 3. XtraSaver 4. SME Current Account
2. Promotional rates are applicable if there is a new GIRO application for a monthly transfer of at least S$1,000 and above for a period of at least 12 months from an outside source into any Deposit Account. The Time Deposit and Deposit Account must have at least one common account holder. This promotion is only applicable to new GIRO applications and is limited to one new GIRO application per relevant account. The funds must be transferred from an account outside Standard Chartered Bank ("the Bank") into the relevant accounts.
3. Existing SME Current Account holders also qualify for the S$ Time Deposit promotional rate provided a minimum one-time placement of S$50,000 is deposited into the SME Current Account concurrently with the Time Deposit placement. However, the SME Current Account holders need not apply for GIRO.
4. In the event that the GIRO application requirements are not fulfilled, the Bank reserves the right to debit the additional interest earned from this promotion based on the promotional rate from the relevant accounts. For avoidance of doubt, this clause does not apply to SME Current Account holders.
5. All Time Deposits must be placed with us during the promotion period at any of our branches. The promotion period runs from 17 September 2009 to 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive) ("Promotion Period").
